Karen Gathany lives in Birmingham, Alabama with her boyfriend Blake. She graduated with a BFA in graphic design from Auburn University in 2008. She especially enjoys brand identity, editorial design, and watercolor illustration.

Format Magazine

Format Magazine is a hypothetical photography magazine. I have a real passion for publication design and this project was a great hands-on, start-to-finish learning experience. I generated the concept for the magazine, developed the logo/nameplate, and designed multiple covers and over 25 pages of relevant content.
